kusa no to mo / sumikawaru yo zo / hina no ie (Even a thatched hut / May change with a new owner / Into a doll’s house)
from a haiku poem in Oku no Hosomichi (奥の細道) by Matsuo Bashō (松尾 芭蕉) (1644 – 1694)
Greek food is yet another kind of food that I sorely miss here in Edwardsville. There isn't a decent Greek restaurant for miles and miles around.
In Montreal, though, we have two areas with really good and surprisingly inexpensive Greek restaurants. One of them makes a REAL Greek salad that puts all the other American versions of this dish to shame. They also make meat marinated in wine with mushrooms that is divine.
I'll stop now or I will write all day long about the wonders of Greek cuisine.
