Now that everyone is using JSTOR and Kindle what do you do with your old collections of books and be ecologically friendly? Turn them into art. Mike Stilkey in his studio at Alta Dena, California does just that using free abandoned books from libraries and bookstores. After the books are arranged in the manner desired, he paints the spines of them using traditional artists’ paint.
I have too many books but I could never get rid of them and just buy more bookshelves.
